During my Nursing Career I have cared for many people with different problems and learned that a person's mind is the most powerful tool of all.
When traditional medicine could no longer provide relief from chronic pain for a family member I researched alternative medicine and found Hypnotherapy as a modality with high success rates..
I have struggled for the majority of my life with obesity and Hypnotherapy has given me the tools to release a large portion of the excess weight.
I am a Hypnotherapist, certified by the National Guild of Hypnotists Inc.
My mission is to provide client centered therapy to overcome personal blocks and assist in accomplishing goals, promoting change and facilitate healing.
I look forward to meeting you and assisting in your personal journey towards wellness and peace of mind.
What is Hypnotherapy ?
A process which uses the power of your mind to achieve a goal or change unwanted habits under the guidance of a Hypnotherapist.
Hypnotherapy is not a medical treatment.
Please consult with your Dr. if Hypnotherapy is right for you.
Who can be Hypnotized ?
Everybody !!! Hypnosis is a natural state of mind - a slowing of brain waves. We enter a state of hypnosis several times throughout the course of the day.
What will I remember ?
Usually everything !!! During hypnosis the physical body and conscious mind are in a relaxed state while the subconscious mind remains in a heightened state of suggestibility.
Can the Hypnotherapist make me do things I don't want to do ?
No. All Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis. Nobody can be hypnotized against their will. Everybody has the ability to reject unwanted suggestions even in the deepest state of hypnosis.
How effective is Hypnosis ?
Hypnosis is a contract between the hypnotist and the client, whereby 10 % of the effort is the Hypnotherapists responsibility and 90 % the client. Studies show that hypnosis is extremely effective if the client is highly motivated.
Is Hypnosis safe ?
Yes. Hypnosis is a very natural process
When you arrive at the Heritage Market, you are welcomed by the charm of a warm early 1900's building.
Our treatment rooms are downstairs and not accessible to individuals with mobility limitations as there are a few stairs.
The washrooms are right across from the treatment rooms for easy access.
The atmosphere is designed to have a calming and relaxing effect on you. If you are allergic to aroma therapy, please let us know beforehand. A session with our Clinical Hypnotherapist stimulates your senses to allow for the most beneficial change work. Sound, colour, scent, textures and gentle touch to your hand, arm, shoulder or forehead are utilized before and during your hypnotic experience.
You will be asked to fill out a consent form and leave your contact information. Sometimes, your Hypnotherapist might ask you for a referral from your Family Dr. or Psychiatrist if you are diagnosed with certain mental or medical conditions.
Hypnosis is a state of heightened focus and suggestibility. It is often compared to day dreaming. We all enter Hypnosis twice every day - right after you wake up and just before you drift off to sleep.
Hypnotherapy is a one on one interaction between 2 people where the Hypnotherapist helps the client enter Hypnosis and utilizes clinical training, experience and intuition to guide the client where he will find solutions, remove blocks, change perception and release anything negative.
For quite a few years I was troubled with a searing pain in my back, about 6 inches below my neck, touching my shoulder blade.
Physiotherapy and Massage Therapy did not help. However, the pain was so severe when it hit, it left me bedridden for a day or two quite a few times. Moving or even breathing caused severe jabbling pains. It always felt like someone was driving a railroad spike into that specific point. T-3's and T-4's helped mask the pain a bit, sometimes. Attacks would come from once a month, to 5 or 6 times a week. I went to a Pain Clinic and was told that they could not help, not even with cortisone shots. I was told to continue using pain killers.
Birgit became a Certified Clinical Hynotherapist in order to help me where traditional medicine failed to work.
I was skeptical at first - but had nothing to lose !
Birgit hypnotized me and in my mind had me locate the spike, grasp it and yank it out !!!
That was a long time ago, and I have NOT had any more severe or even minor attacks since. The pain is gone ,forever !!
Thank you for improving my quality of life. I look forward to the next session to deal with another concern I have.
I now believe that I CAN be hypnotized and that Hypnotherapy WILL improve my quality of life.
ANXIETY,ANXIETY,ANXIETY----- It ran my life for so long. I had known about Hypnosis for Success for about 8 months before I finally got the nerve to try it. I entered a very dark hole and thought there was never going to be a way out. Medication, breathing exercises, counseling, self help books, classes..... they were like a band-aid, not a solution. I would go up and down, up and down and then I got to the point where I couldn't sleep and my job and marriage were severely affected.
Birgit changed my life in only 4 sessions. I can now live my life to the fullest and I am back to being a productive, happy, self satisfied person and have never felt better. Regrets ? Only one. I regret that I didn't try it sooner. Anxiety and depression are no longer part of my life !!

In the past, my fear of heights was nearly debilitating. I couldn't even thing about climbing without feeling afraid. On a trip overseas I avoided the opportunity to climb the Eiffel Tower because of it , and this was something I regretted. I went to see Birgit so I could overcome my fear. She was very reassureing. After just one session I felt immediately better. Soon after I went on holdiday to Vancouver, and while there I walked the Capilano Suspension Bridge and the Cliffwalk without hesitation! Instead of being afraid of heights, I was excited ! I highly recommend Birgit Wujcik !

I always wanted to have a natural child birth but was scared I wouldn't be able to handle the pain. I have always believed in the " mind over matter " approach to life. When a colleague of mine shared her sisters story of hypnobirthing with me I was intrigued, although a little skeptical. The only experience with hypnosis I had was stage performances. After my first session with Birgit I was amazed at how easy it was to believe in the influence of hypnosis.
Everything Birgit discussed with me made sense, from the ability to bring the body into a state of complete relaxation and use of visualization to naturally overcome the pain and tension.
The sessions with Birgit taught me how to work with my body to bring myself into a very deep state of relaxation, and to be positive about the entire birthing experience in such a way as to release all my fears and anxieties. I felt at ease, assured and excited about the upcoming event.
After several one on one sessions with Birgit we began to work with my Husband, as partner/coach. The process required us to work as a unit. Through the exercises Birgit practiced with us, we were able to form a deeper connection and trust in each other which helped with the relaxation. This would be the cornerstone to our childbirth experience.
When labour started there was no tension, panic or sense of ugency; In fact I was well into labour before I felt anything. All the suggestions Birgit had provided were proving to be very effective, and I was quite relaxed, calm and pain free. The contractions were increasingly frequent and perceptible as labour progressed. However, because I began the self hypnosis process immediately and didn't waste any time on fear or tension I felt very little pain, mostly slight discomfort. I did have some back pain which was due to the baby's position but was alleviated with a hot shower. At no point did I feel out of control or in need of analgesic. My husband coached me along and was continuously assisting me in maintaining deep relaxation though breathing, focus and imagery. I had practiced to visualize a halo which would control my pain level. It was with this focus that I was able to push the pain away in my mind. I felt in control, was conscious of my surroundings and the staff around me the entire time. I was even able to have conversations. I was able to push my baby out with no tearing.
My baby arrived into the world healthy. The nurse assisting us said it was the easiest delivery she had ever been involved in.
Childbirth is a natural and wonderful process, and I experienced it in the most positive and wonderful way. I look forward to working with Birgit again for our next childbirthing experience.
